Usiacurí

Usiacurí is a small, picturesque town located in the Atlántico Department of northern Colombia, about one hour west of Barranquilla in the foothills of the Serranía de los Montes de María, the town sits at an elevation of around 650 feet above sea level. Usiacurí is recognized for its rich artisan traditions, particularly the production of woven crafts made from iraca palm (toquilla palm).

These include decorative baskets, hats, and bags, which are displayed prominently during the town’s artisan festivals. Usiacurí also features natural wells with mineral-rich waters.
The town’s streets are lined with colorful murals, colonial-era architecture, and artisan shops. Usiacurí is part of the network of heritage towns (Red Turística de Pueblos Patrimonio de Colombia) due to its cultural and historical importance.
