Xylosma bahamensis


Native to the Bahamas and nearby Caribbean islands, Xylosma bahamensis is an evergreen shrub or small tree of dry forest, scrub, and limestone habitats. Small leathery leaves cluster along gray branches. Inconspicuous flowers are followed by rounded fruits that ripen from green through orange and red to dark purple. Photographed in Florida.
