Warczewiczella discolor

Native from Central America into northern South America, Warczewiczella discolor is a terrestrial or epiphytic orchid of humid tropical forest. Pleated lance-shaped leaves rise from short clustered stems. Each large fragrant flower has pale yellow-green sepals and petals surrounding a broad deep purple lip with a contrasting patterned throat. Photographed in Colombia.
