Viola cornuta

Native to the Pyrenees of southwestern Europe, Viola cornuta is a low perennial herb that forms leafy spreading clumps. Slender stems carry narrow toothed leaves and solitary five-petaled flowers with a projecting spur behind the lower petal. Flower colors in cultivation range from violet and blue to white, yellow, and bicolored forms. Photographed in Florida.
