Viguiera pazensis


Native to the central Andes, Viguiera pazensis is a branching perennial of sunny slopes and open montane vegetation. Broad opposite leaves have prominent veins and a textured surface. Golden flower heads carry a ring of long yellow ray florets around a dense central disk composed of many small tubular florets. Photographed in Colombia.
