Veronica × franciscana

Veronica × franciscana is an evergreen garden hybrid derived from New Zealand shrubby veronicas. Dense leafy stems form a compact shrub with thick glossy foliage. Short upright racemes carry many violet-purple flowers, each with four unequal lobes and two projecting stamens. New buds open progressively from the base toward the tip. Photographed in Florida.
