Vernonanthura patens

Native from Mexico through Central America and northern South America, Vernonanthura patens is a branching shrub or small tree of forest edges, secondary vegetation, and disturbed ground. Large terminal clusters contain many small whitish flower heads with slender projecting florets. The elongated leaves have toothed margins and paler undersides. Photographed in Colombia.
