Native to the southeastern and south-central United States, Verbesina virginica is a tall perennial herb of woodland margins, roadsides, and open ground. Its stems bear broad toothed leaves and branch near the top into clusters of small white flower heads. Narrow white rays surround compact disks that mature from pale green to cream.
