Veltheimia capensis

Native to the dry western region of South Africa, Veltheimia capensis is a bulbous perennial with broad gray-green leaves that often have wavy margins. A stout leafless stalk carries a dense cylindrical cluster of pendent tubular flowers. The blossoms range from pink to salmon with pale green tips. Photographed in Florida.
