Vandopsis gigantea

Native from mainland Southeast Asia to the Philippines, Vandopsis gigantea is a large epiphytic or rock-growing orchid with stout upright stems and leathery strap-shaped leaves. Dense flower clusters carry many thick waxy blossoms. Golden yellow petals and sepals are covered with fine reddish brown spots around a smaller patterned lip. Photographed in Florida.
