Vanda aurantiaca
Vanda aurantiaca is a small, epiphytic orchid species native to the Philippines, found growing on trees in humid tropical forests at elevations from lowland areas up to about 3,300 feet. This species is valued for its vibrant, densely packed inflorescences, which can carry dozens of tiny, long-lasting blooms in shades ranging from golden yellow to deep orange, with a distinct glossy sheen. The plant’s leaves are thick, strap-shaped, and leathery, forming a fan-like arrangement from which the upright to slightly arching flower spikes emerge. Photographed in Florida.
