Valeriana rigida
Native from Colombia through the Andes to western Bolivia, Valeriana rigida is a robust perennial of montane grassland and pƔramo. Thick upright leaves form a compact basal crown. A sturdy flowering stem supports a dense rounded head made of many tiny white flowers that may develop brownish tones as they age. Photographed in Colombia.
