Indigenous to the Andean region of Colombia and Venezuela. It is primarily found in wet tropical biomes and the Andean forests, thriving at altitudes ranging from 6,070 to 12,470 feet. The fruit is edible with many beneficial properties and can be eaten fresh or used as a juice. It is called agraz in Colombia. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
