Urceolina astrophiala

Native only to north-central Ecuador, Urceolina astrophiala is a bulbous perennial herb of wet tropical forest. Broad leaves emerge from the underground bulb, followed by a leafless stalk bearing several white flowers. Six broad tepals surround a shallow white central cup marked with pale yellow near the throat. Photographed in Colombia.
