Uncarina grandidieri

Native to southern Madagascar, Uncarina grandidieri is a succulent shrub with a thickened water-storing trunk and broad softly hairy leaves. Large yellow trumpet-shaped flowers have a deep maroon throat that contrasts with the pale corolla. The woody fruits develop long hooked projections that readily attach to passing animals.
