Tristerix penduliflorus

Native to Peru and Bolivia, Tristerix penduliflorus is a woody hemiparasitic shrub of seasonally dry Andean vegetation. It attaches to host branches but carries its own narrow green leaves. Numerous pendent flowers combine red tubes, yellow tips, and long projecting stamens, creating dense displays along the outer branches. Photographed in Peru.
