Tristerix longibracteatus
Native from Colombia to Peru, Tristerix longibracteatus is a woody hemiparasitic shrub of high Andean vegetation from about 2,800 to 4,000 meters. It grows on the branches of host plants while producing its own leathery green leaves. Dense clusters of vivid orange-red tubular flowers have long projecting stamens and narrow surrounding bracts.
