Trichopilia fragrans

Native to the Caribbean and tropical South America, Trichopilia fragrans is a pseudobulbous epiphytic orchid of wet forest. Each compressed pseudobulb supports a leathery leaf, while pendent flower stems carry fragrant white blossoms. Narrow sepals and petals surround a broad ruffled white lip marked with yellow near its throat. Photographed in Colombia.
