Tradescantia 'Sweet Kate'

Tradescantia ‘Sweet Kate’ is a cultivated herbaceous perennial selected from the Andersoniana group of hybrid spiderworts. Upright stems carry narrow golden yellow leaves that contrast with clusters of deep violet-blue flowers. Each blossom has three broad petals surrounding yellow anthers and delicate violet filaments. The clumps expand gradually from underground rhizomes. Photographed in Florida.
