Tipuana tipu cluster of crinkled golden yellow flowers among pinnate green leaves

Tipuana tipu

Native to Bolivia and northwestern Argentina, Tipuana tipu is a large deciduous or briefly deciduous tree with a broad spreading crown. Pinnate leaves form a fine-textured canopy, while abundant golden yellow pea-shaped flowers appear in branching clusters. Flat winged fruits develop after flowering and turn brown as they mature. Photographed in Ecuador.
