Tillandsia fasciculata tall branched inflorescence with vivid red bracts above narrow green leaves

Tillandsia fasciculata

Native from Florida and Mexico through the Caribbean and Central America to northern South America, Tillandsia fasciculata is an epiphytic bromeliad of dry woodland and humid forest. A stiff rosette of narrow leaves supports a tall branched inflorescence. Overlapping red, orange, or pink bracts surround slender violet flowers that open progressively along the spikes. Photographed in Colombia.
