A plant sold as Tibouchina lepidota displays five narrow purple petals with water droplets and long curved pale stamens beside unopened buds

Tibouchina lepidota (commercial label)

This flowering shrub was sold in Florida as Tibouchina lepidota. Although that botanical name is a synonym of Andesanthus lepidotus, this specimen is not that plant. Other references use the name Tibouchina ‘Jules’. Photographed in Florida.
