Tetradenia riparia branching sprays densely covered with tiny pale lavender flowers

Tetradenia riparia

Native to eastern and southern tropical Africa, Tetradenia riparia is an aromatic shrub of forest margins, rocky slopes, and streamside vegetation. Branched sprays carry many tiny pale lavender flowers above broad softly hairy leaves. The foliage releases a strong scent when handled, and separate male and female flowers occur on different plants. Photographed in Panama.
