Tephrosia purpurea

Native across tropical Africa and Asia, Tephrosia purpurea is an annual or short-lived perennial herb of dry grassland, sandy ground, and disturbed sites. Slender flower clusters carry pink-purple pea-shaped blossoms above pinnate leaves. The plant has a long history in regional traditional medicine, though its compounds require careful study and use.
