Tanaecium selloi

Native to southeastern South America, Tanaecium selloi is a woody climbing vine of forest edges and open woodland. Large violet-purple trumpet-shaped flowers open in clusters and have five broad lobes surrounding a pale, striped throat. Tendrils help the stems climb through neighboring vegetation, while opposite leaves frame the flowering branches. Photographed in Florida.
