Tagetes lemmonii

Native to southeastern Arizona and northwestern Mexico, Tagetes lemmonii is an aromatic perennial shrub of rocky canyons and mountain slopes. Golden yellow flower heads have broad rays surrounding a darker central disk. Finely divided leaves release a strong fragrance when brushed, and the branching plant flowers heavily during cooler seasons. Photographed in Colombia.
