Tabernaemontana litoralis
A small tree that originates from Central America to Colombia with a habitat range around 4,000-5,000 feet that blooms almost throughout the year, exhibiting terminal inflorescences with two to six flowers. These flowers are distinctively pure white with a yellow throat and emit a sweet fragrance that becomes more intense at night. The plant's fruits are paired follicles resembling cloves, turning from green to orange when ripe and containing numerous seeds covered by a red-orange aril. Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Central).
