Struthanthus quercicola

Native from Mexico through Central America, Struthanthus quercicola is a woody aerial hemiparasite that establishes on the branches of host trees. Branching sprays carry many tiny greenish cream flowers with narrow recurved segments. The plant forms leafy stems above its attachment point while specialized structures obtain water and minerals from the host. Photographed in Florida.
