Stigmaphyllon dichotomum

A woody climbing vine native to tropical South America, Stigmaphyllon dichotomum grows through forest edges and open secondary vegetation. Its yellow flowers have five rounded unequal petals surrounding prominent curved reproductive structures. Branching clusters emerge beside opposite leaves, and distinctive winged fruits develop after flowering. Flexible stems weave through nearby shrubs. Photographed in Colombia.
