Stenomesson aurantiacum

A bulbous perennial native to the Andes of Ecuador and Peru, Stenomesson aurantiacum grows on rocky mountain slopes and seasonally dry ground. Umbels carry vivid orange tubular flowers with six spreading lobes and a small inner cup surrounding the stamens. Narrow leaves emerge from the underground bulb. Photographed in Colombia.
