A miniature epiphytic orchid native to tropical American forests, Stelis chamaestelis forms compact clusters of thick leathery leaves. Numerous threadlike inflorescences branch or arch among the foliage and carry many minute yellow-green flowers. Each flower has three small sepals surrounding reduced inner floral parts. The plant occupies humid, shaded branches. Photographed in Colombia.
