Stachys elliptica

An Andean perennial herb native to Ecuador, Stachys elliptica grows in highland grasslands and open mountain vegetation. Upright stems bear opposite elliptical leaves and whorls of small pale violet two-lipped flowers. Pointed calyx lobes and fine hairs surround the flowers, while the square stems branch near the base.
