Spondias mombin (Yellow Mombin)


Native to the tropical Americas and Caribbean, this fruit-bearing tree is widely cultivated and naturalized in other tropical regions. It produces yellow fruits with leathery skin and fibrous pulp that are eaten fresh or used in juices, jellies, and other preparations. Photographed in Atlántico, Colombia.
