Spermacoce remota

A branching tropical American herb, Spermacoce remota grows in lawns, roadsides, and other disturbed open ground. Small white four-lobed flowers form dense clusters around the stem nodes between opposite leaves. The slender stems spread or rise through nearby vegetation, producing small dry fruits within each compact cluster. Photographed in Colombia.
