Solidago stricta

A perennial goldenrod native to the southeastern United States, Solidago stricta grows in wet pine flatwoods, bog margins, and seasonally moist open ground. Its narrow upright stem bears closely spaced leaves below a compact wand of small yellow flower heads. The inflorescence remains relatively narrow and unbranched. Photographed in Florida.
