Solanum pyracanthos

A prickly shrub native to Madagascar, Solanum pyracanthos is distinguished by bright orange spines along its stems and leaf veins. Violet star-shaped flowers have five recurved lobes surrounding yellow anthers, while the large deeply lobed leaves carry additional sharp prickles. Rounded green fruits follow the clustered flowers.
