Native to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, central Mexico, and Mexico Gulf and nearby regions, it is a shrub in the Solanaceae family. Documented elevations extend from about 2,600 to 10,150 feet. It develops branching woody stems and dense foliage, with flowers arranged singly or in inflorescences. Photographed in Colombia.
