Solanum acerifolium

A prickly shrub native to tropical America, Solanum acerifolium grows in open disturbed vegetation and forest margins. White star-shaped flowers have five narrow petals surrounding a cone of yellow anthers, while the stems and leaves bear conspicuous sharp prickles. Rounded berries develop from the hairy flower clusters. Photographed in Colombia.
