Siphocampylus ecuadorensis pendulous dark red flower with narrow recurved lobes and projecting style

Siphocampylus ecuadorensis

An Ecuadorian Andean shrub in the bellflower family, this species produces long pendulous flowers from leafy stems. The dark red corolla is narrow at the base and separates near its tip into slender recurved lobes, with the style extending outward. Pointed calyx lobes remain conspicuous around the flower base. Research-grade observations document the accepted species in Ecuador. Photographed in Colombia.
