Sida glomerata

An upright tropical American herb or subshrub in the mallow family, this species has simple toothed leaves and small flowers borne singly or in compact axillary groups. Five white petals surround a yellow center formed by the fused staminal column. The fruit separates into small one-seeded segments at maturity. Research-grade observations document the species in Colombia and Ecuador. Photographed in Colombia.
