Sesuvium maritimum

A low succulent herb native to tropical and subtropical coastal regions of the Americas, Sesuvium maritimum grows in saline sand, dunes, and other open shoreline habitats. Its fleshy narrow leaves cluster along prostrate stems, while small pink five-lobed flowers open among the foliage. The stems often root as they spread. Photographed in Peru.
