Senna septemtrionalis

A shrub or small tree native from Mexico through Central America, this species has compound leaves made up of several pairs of glossy oval leaflets. Yellow flowers occur in small axillary clusters and show the unequal petals and curved stamens characteristic of Senna. Cylindrical to slightly flattened pods develop afterward. Research-grade observations document it in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. Photographed in Colombia.
