Senna nitida

A shrub or small tree native to tropical America, Senna nitida has glossy pinnate leaves and yellow flowers borne in small clusters. Five unequal petals surround curved stamens, and rounded green buds develop beside the open blossoms. Flattened legume pods follow the flowering period along the leafy branches.
