Senna fruticosa

A shrub or small tree native from Mexico to Honduras, it has compound leaves with two pairs of broad leaflets. Short flower clusters form near the branch tips, carrying yellow flowers with orange-brown anthers and curved green styles. The fruits are long, rounded brown pods. Naturalized in Colombia, it occurs from near sea level to about 5,800 feet. Photographed in the department of Atlántico, Colombia.
