Senecio tingoensis

A perennial member of the daisy family native to the Peruvian Andes, Senecio tingoensis grows in open mountain vegetation. Branching stems carry clusters of yellow flower heads with narrow ray florets around golden disks. Developing buds are enclosed by overlapping green bracts, and elongated leaves occur below the flowering branches. Photographed in Peru.
