Schultesianthus coriaceus

Schultesianthus coriaceus is a woody shrub in the nightshade family, native to the northern Andes. Leathery leaves occur along branching stems, and tubular flowers expand into five pointed lobes around the opening. The persistent calyx remains at the flower base and later surrounds the developing berry. Research-grade observations document the species in Colombia. Photographed in Colombia.
