Saracha punctata

Saracha punctata is an Andean shrub native from Ecuador through Peru to Bolivia. Broad leaves occur along branching stems, and small bell-shaped flowers have five spreading lobes marked in greenish yellow and purple-brown. Rounded berries develop after the flowers. The species inhabits montane forest edges and high-elevation shrubland, including sites above 9,800 feet. Research-grade observations document it in Ecuador and Peru. Photographed in Colombia.
