Sanchezia aurea is a scrambling shrub native to Peru. Hairy stems bear broad leaves with narrowed bases, while the inflorescences carry narrow lance-shaped bracts and elongated calyx lobes. The flowers combine red or purple bracts with a slender yellow to orange corolla. This species occurs in wet tropical forest, including lowland sites in the Peruvian Amazon.
