Salvia × hybrida

A naturally occurring perennial hybrid native to Romania, Salvia × hybrida originates from Salvia nemorosa and Salvia transsylvanica. Like its parents, it bears opposite aromatic leaves and upright flowering stems. The two-lipped flowers are arranged in spaced whorls, with colored calyces remaining visible around the developing buds. Photographed in Florida.
