Salvia sarmentosa

A perennial sage native to Peru, Salvia sarmentosa grows in Andean habitats with branching or trailing stems. Blue-violet two-lipped flowers emerge from green pointed calyces in spaced pairs or small clusters. The opposite narrow leaves and lightly hairy square stems give the plant an open, delicate appearance. Photographed in Colombia.
